Scholar Craft's 7800 and 7900 Series desks prove that well-designed furniture can be beautiful as well as functional.  Both the 7800 and 7900 Series start with a frame manufactured from high-carbon 16-gauge rectangular steel.  A cross-brace is MIG welded to form a free-standing H-shaped design providing tremendous support for both the storage compartment and writing surface.  T-shaped, threaded, nickel-chromed leg inserts create the distinctive pedestal design.
  The book box on the 7800 Series is manufactured of one piece 20-gauge steel, with wire reinforced rolled edges, complete with a formed pencil groove.  For less weight, the book box on our 7900 Series is constructed of our lightly grained heavy-duty, linear polyethylene with integral support ribs and molded reinforced edges.  The work/writing area on the 7800 Series is 26" wide and 24" wide on the 7900 Series.  Both are available in either our Melamine Resin solid-plastic or high-grade fiberboard with a plastic laminate surface.
 

The 7800 and 7900 Series consists of a 3/4" x 2" 16-gauge rectangular steel cross-braced frame forming an H-shape.  Threaded leg inserts of 16-gauge rectangular nickel-chromed steel use dual, high-quality 3/4" x 1/4" bolt attachments.  Adjustable glides come in either nylon or steel.
